How Therapy Can Help
Young people can sometimes feel overwhelmed, stuck, misunderstood or under pressure. Therapy offers a space where they do not have to manage these experiences alone.
Depending on their age and needs, sessions may involve conversation, creative activities, reflection and age-appropriate ways of exploring thoughts, feelings and experiences.
My approach is relational, collaborative and trauma-informed. I aim to help young people feel understood, build confidence and develop healthier ways of coping with life's challenges.
Experience & Approach
I am a BACP Registered Counsellor with a post-qualifying Diploma in Counselling Children and Young People.
Alongside my private practice, I have spent nearly nine years supporting young people and families, working closely with children, parents and schools.
My approach is relational, collaborative and trauma-informed. I aim to create a safe and trusting space where children and young people can explore their experiences, develop confidence and feel understood at their own pace.
My work is supported by regular clinical supervision and ongoing professional development.
Working With Parents and Caregivers
Parents and caregivers play an important role in a child's therapeutic journey. While the young person is my client, I recognise that meaningful support often involves working alongside the important adults in their life. I aim to offer a collaborative and respectful space where we can think together about your concerns and how best to support your child.
Children and young people often need a private space where they feel able to talk openly and honestly. For this reason, therapy includes an agreed level of confidentiality that helps build trust and emotional safety. I will work with families to ensure appropriate communication and support throughout the process.
If I have concerns about a young person's safety or wellbeing, I will always take appropriate safeguarding action.
